NTT DOCOMO’s international payments’ business, DOCOMO Digital, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Bennett as its new Senior Vice President, responsible for all commercial activities globally to lead the company’s ambitions to scale its payments-as-a-managed-services-platform offering for digital merchants and mobile carriers.

Bennett will be a part of the executive team, reporting to the CEO.

He joins DOCOMO Digital from Cashflows, a European fintech, where he served as the Chief Commercial Officer. He brings deep expertise in scaling payments’ businesses, having previously held leadership roles with American Express, Travelex, MasterCard and Kalixa.

Commenting on his new role, Bennett said: “I am very excited to be tasked with the responsibility of leading the next phase of growth for DOCOMO Digital Payments. NTT DOCOMO has set a strong example of building a fast-growing fintech business for mobile carriers, and this lineage of innovation in payments enables DOCOMO Digital to be growth catalysts for OTT services and digital merchants.”

Jonathan Kriegel, CEO of DOCOMO Digital, adds: “Jonathan Bennett joins us at a moment of transformation, and I am truly excited to welcome him to our diverse and talented team. We want to be laser-focused on further scaling our global payments’ footprint by expanding our partnership with payment providers as also delivering on our promise of service excellence to our merchant partners. And having someone like Jonathan lead the commercial team will enable us to do just that.”
