Spain is one of the most highly developed mobile markets in Europe, with 49 million Spanish mobile subscribers – and a 110% penetration rate – and is ripe for carrier billing. So finds the latest market report into the carrier billing market from DIMOCO.

Spread amongst Telefónica (brand: Movistar with 35.8% market share), Vodafone (30.2% market share), as well as Orange (market share of 25.7%) and Yoigo (market share of 8.2%), according to PwC, the digital content market will grow from a revenue of 900m in 2015 to a revenue of 1.26m in 2019.

The biggest area, eGames will generate revenues of 558m euros in 2015 and 698m euros in 2019. Revenues in the area of publications, including eBooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers, are expected to increase by 1.6 times, from 206m euros in 2015 to 331m euros in 2019. The smallest digital content division, Home Videos, packs a punch by generating the largest increase of 1.9 % (56m euros in 2015 to 109m euros in 2019). Digital music is expected to have revenues of 80m euros in 2015 and 122m euros in 2019.

“Billing 49 million mobile subscribers with only one interface is a powerful stroke rate. The Spanish carrier billing market is one of the most interesting ones in Europe,” says Gerald Tauchner, DIMOCO President and CEO.
