A company specialising in optimising customer conversion rate by creating personalised experiences has exceeded the expectations of one of the UK’s largest telecoms retailers, generating 1,519 sales over a three week period and doubling publisher-driven sales in just 24 hours.
The client also witnessed a 70% YOY affiliate sale increase between 25 November 2018 and 15 December 2018, of which Smarter Click were responsible for 33%.

One of the UK’s largest telecom retailers approached Smarter Click with the objective of increasing sales and reducing cart abandonment through personalisation. Instead of building campaigns to incentivise the user, the team instead focused on providing the user with a more personalised journey, as well as creating a sense of urgency for time limited offers that they wouldn’t want to miss out on.
Specific aims of the campaign were for over half of Smarter Click sales to be made up of the clients ‘trading priority’ products, as well as for the company to increase overall Cyber Monday sales through the affiliate channel by 40% year on year. Smarter Click was tasked with reducing site abandonment, increasing conversion rate and increasing handset contract sales volumes without the use of margin eroding voucher coding. Smarter Click also needed to ensure that offers promoted for the client were trading priorities covering 3 core promotional windows; Cyber Monday Christmas deals, and tariff specific offers.
Over a three-week period, 1519 sales were driven thanks to the campaign, achieving 424 sales within 24 hours; more than double the average of the top 10 publishers. Smarter Click also achieved a 9% conversion rate, also doubling the average results of the top 10 publishers. Furthermore, the client witnessed a 70% YOY affiliate sale increase, of which Smarter Click were responsible for 33%.
