    Enarpee Services re-appointed as compliance partner for EE

    Enarpee Services has been re-appointed as the official compliance partner for Telecoms & Network Operator EE, covering third Party Mobile Billing Services. Enarpee has held this position since January 2014, and the re-appointment will continue until 31st January 2019.

    Enarpee Services has in turn appointed Monitoring Compliance Partners (MCP) to act as a Technical Fulfilment Partner.

    Commenting on the announcement, Enarpee’s Managing Director said: “We are very proud to be awarded an extension to be EE’s Compliance Partner for third Party Mobile Billing Services. It demonstrates continued confidence in our ability and the ability of our trusted partners at MCP to providing best of class, high level of Regulatory Compliance Auditing and Monitoring of Services, to reduce and prevent consumer harm by non-compliant marketing and service promotions. We will not be complacent by the extension and look forward to working with EE, their clients and our partners in support of EE’s Compliance and Regulatory obligations”.

    On 8th March, Enarpee’s Neil Penny was on a selected guest list to attend an event co-hosted by EE and Level 1 Provider Infomedia Ltd, entitled ‘Safeguarding Childrens Digitial Experiences’. The event was held in Wembley Stadium, courtesy of EE. Also in attendance were representatives of other audit houses including Enarpee’s technical fulfilment partner Monitoring Compliance Partners Ltd. Presenters included PM Connect, Buongiorno and the Internet Advertising Bureau. The seminar highlighted several areas of ‘sharp practice’ adopted by some promoters who were less scrupulous regarding the protection of junior consumers. We also heard examples of the monitoring and detection techniques used by MCP and promoters alike, to prevent and restrict similar sharp practice, as well as the enforcement options used by responsible providers. One key message was in managing affiliate risk, including having robust insertion orders, trickling traffic from new advertising networks, monitoring of complaints on a daily basis, monitoring for traffic spikes, maintenance of a blacklist, become less reliant on affiliate networks for blocking adverts and to review traffic sources and referrals periodically. A further seminar will be held later in the year which Enarpee also hopes to be in attendance. Free periods prior to the commencement of a billed subscription service is usually welcomed by networks and regulators (24 to 48 hours free period is best).
