Fonix turns 10 – here are some of its triumphs

Fonix was launched 10 years ago and is now a £230m, AIM-listed telemedia behemoth. Here we take a look at some of its triumphs and look ahead to the future

This year Fonix turns 10. Where does the time go? Launched in 2014 with a view to focus on messaging, PSMS and DCB for the broadcast, media, charity and digital entertainment sectors, the company has gone from strength to strength and is now a stalwart of the telemedia industry.

Floated on AIM in 2020, the company currently handles more than £250, in PSMS and DCB payments every year and is growing with a market cap of more than £230m.

This is largely down to working with some of the biggest UK brands across media and charity, including ITV, Bauer, Global Radio, Channel 5, Comic Relief, Children in Need, Cancer Research, Socceraid to name but a few.

Take a look at what Fonix has done in the past 10 years here

Founded by Rob Weisz, the company has a roster of industry veterans and experts, including such luminaries as Will Neale, Lou Harris, Steve George, Anthony Baladi and Marcus Kern.

It launched in Ireland in 2022 and is now the market leader in interactive services there, Weisz tells us that the next 10 years starts with the company adding more more countries, expanding the options around OTT messaging, such as Whatsapp, RCS and beyond, all while embracing the exciting world of alternative payments. And all of it centres on using the mobile number as a means to engage.

Happy birthday guys and here’s to the next decade.
