Jesse Lingard and his Jlingz Esports Team partner with SportLocker

Footballer Jesse Lingard, a keen esports player with his Jlingz esports team – as well as attacking midfielder and winger for both Nottingham Forest and England – has signed a sponsorship deal with on-demand sports company SportLocker.

The deal will see Jlingz carry the SportLocker logo in their games, with the sports streaming service cementing its position in the growing esports market. Lingard has a combined audience of 22.7 million fans and is one of the most socially active professional athletes on an International and UK stage.

SportLocker, is a 24 hour on-demand sport service showcasing highlights, news, real-time statistics and live scores, with more than 150 new pieces of content appearing each day. Users can enjoy access to highlights of global major sporting events from a single platform through an affordable sports subscription model.

One partner, MTN Group – Africa’s largest mobile network operator – reached more than 45,000 subscribers within 5 days of launch in November 2022, with the subscriber base sitting at over 260,000 after the first two months.

Lingard comments: “I’m really excited about SportLocker, everyone knows I love making content and SportLocker is all about sport focused streaming for the people. I can’t wait to show fans a different side of me that goes hand-in-hand with my passions both on and off the pitch.”

Toby Wakefield, Jlingz esports Managing Director adds: “We can’t wait to produce esports content with SportLocker, and plan to give fans a different perspective into the running of an organisation and get them excited about the Jlingz esports roster to come”.

SportLocker’s Operations Director, Tim Scoffham says: “We have been keeping a keen eye on the esports space for quite some time now, and we could not have hoped for a better launch than with Jesse and his team. We’re incredibly excited to be the main sponsor for Jlingz Esports Team, and hope that this will be the start of a long-term connection. The team have thoroughly enjoyed attending the ALGS London at Copper Box Arena and look forward to visiting the Halo Championship Charlotte later this month.”

Jean-Pierre du Toit, the Commercial Director at SportLocker says of the rationale behind the collaboration: “The ever-growing synergy between traditional sports and esports was a real driver in this deal, and we are so excited about what is to come from this relationship. Having Jesse as a brand ambassador for SportLocker is a huge step for us, with his brand and values linking perfectly with our own. We are confident that this launch will vastly enhance the blueprint of SportLocker in the UK and in the global market.”
