Major tier-one operator in Mexico Deploys fonYou’s iCarrier Pay Solution

0

fonYou is working with a major tier-one operator in Mexico to digitise its payment and sales infrastructure using fonYou’s iCarrier Pay solution.

When a subscriber tops-up online, the carrier will now benefit from lower distribution fees compared to traditional cash top-ups, increasing efficiency for its prepaid business operation.

The deployment enables the operator to unlock new digital payment methods for subscribers, allowing them to make instant top-ups or purchase bundles directly via their mobile devices. By digitizing and automating the distribution of their products and services, subscribers can stay connected anytime, anywhere.

fonYou’s iCarrier Pay is a payment solution platform designed for mobile carriers. After a subscriber has selected a prepaid top-up or bundle, the platform uses a multichannel approach to direct them to their preferred channel for payment in real-time, including traditional USSD or IVR and via social media channels such as Facebook Messenger.

The platform interconnects the carrier to the banking system, and provisions the customer with their selection. This can range in value from 20 to 500 Mexican Pesos. It also includes an AI and analytics engine that optimises real-time transaction prompts to debit or credit cardholders, while minimizing mobile fraud.

In a market where top-ups were traditionally purchased from retail outlets, the iCarrier Pay deployment is a significant step towards boosting adoption of digital payment methods across the operator’s subscriber base. It eases the burden on subscribers and gives the company full control of the subscriber Quality of Experience (QoE). Furthermore, real-time business dashboards give carriers full visibility of the performance of distributed products.

The operator can also tap into the platform’s intelligence for cross-channel remarketing opportunities. For example, the solution recognizes when a customer fails to complete a top-up transaction and sends a flash SMS or starts a conversation on Facebook Messenger with a personalised offer to ensure that subscribers stay connected.

Fernando Núñez Mendoza, founder and CEO of fonYou, said: “Top up transactions in digital channels can be up to 40 per cent more efficient than top ups in physical stores and significantly boost customer connectivity. With credit and debit card ownership in Mexico on the rise, there is a real opportunity for forward-thinking operators to offer intelligent card payment options and launch new innovative services. All digital customer engagements are integrated into a carrier-specific Big Data pool, which can be analyzed to develop revenue-generating services and to deliver richer engagements to an always-connected customer.”
