Who are you and what is your current role?

I am Michael Tanas and I am the Business Development Director of International Premiums, which is a leading Telemedia Company.

Which countries or regions do you feel represent the greatest opportunity for telemedia services?

We believe that the market is diverse and it changes quickly, most of our partners are all over the world and they are always travelling after the opportunities. Africa, Asia, and Latin America are mainly the concentration of the services that are developed. It is always important to seek the user’s needs to keep this business rolling.

Which content and/or applications do you see being the most likely to benefit from telemedia billing and/or marketing technologies?

With the technology improving on mobiles, the users are always on their phones and it is becoming a piece of them. Our services are on mobile Apps, InApp purchases, Facebook, Gaming, and Gambling Apps.

Do you think that Direct Carrier Billing can become mainstream and in which markets?

Yes indeed carrier Billing has become the main stream in many regions and the IPRN business itself is being demanded by many operators to keep the wheel running.

What are the key drivers and inhibitors for growth?

The Key Driver is to allow stable access to users in order for them to benefit from the services that are out in the market. We also need to assure that the clients providing the services are able to receive their payments without issues in order for them to keep providing these Services globally.

Do you see affiliate marketing being a primary, trusted channel for telemedia propositions or do you think alternative routes to market will become more popular?

For the success of the business in VAS, all the tools are needed to reach the users in order to serve their customers. Marketing is very important and using all the available media tools to reach the needed results. The usual Media tools like SMS, TV, Social media Ads are still used.

How likely is it that crypto currencies will become popular telemedia/mobile payment mechanisms for premium content, services and applications?

I believe that the world is eager to find other methods for guaranteed and secure payments. I believe crypto currencies soon will be used to exchange payment and many countries now are accepting it to be traded and can convert it to local currency.

Your words of wisdom: On a more personal level, what is the most inspiring piece of advice that has seen you through a life in business to this day and who gave that advice to you?

Success comes not because you have a post or position in a company, it comes from the things you learn in life from your peers and you apply in life and at work. Responsibility as a Business Development Director is to always be on the lookout for new opportunities and how to improve the business for the organization. Honesty of the team and the way you deal with people has the most effect on the trust that you build with the other person. Without the trust it is hard to keep anything going in life. Building the trust takes efforts and maintaining it is harder, so making sure to keep this most trust will help you grow any business that has contact with people.
