Momac bundles premium apps in Tigo’s monthly packages

0

Millicom, an international telecoms and media company, has partnered with Momac to launch SmartApps, a new Tigo-branded mobile service that will give mobile customers even easier access to premium content.

SmartApps is a key driver behind Millicom’s shift from voice towards data and smartphone usage as part of its Digital Lifestyle strategy. Powered by Momac’s platform, the solution will bundleTigo’s wide range of data packages together with high value 3rd party services such as Deezer, Qello, Gameloft, Busuu and many more.

End-users can easily register to these Over The Top (OTT) services, straight from the Tigo-branded app or via web and mobile internet. Uniquely, the user can then swap and tailor these services each month, as their needs and desires change.

It will also allow the OTT service providers to benefit from Tigo’s market footprint and marketing efforts.

With low penetration of debit and credit cards in these countries, the service integrates third party providers with Tigo’s billing and secured CRM and Momac’s own Mvolve platform, to offer customers simple access to affordable paid-for premium content.

Momac’s solution results in a win-win combination that demonstrates how content and telecoms can join efforts to create value for end-users.

Commenting on the launch of the new service, David Gilarranz Berner, Global Head of Digital at Millicom says: “Our customers are switching to smartphones and want to use them to access as many services as possible. This partnership with Momac will make it easier for them to access all kinds of new content such as music streaming and sports apps. It’s a key part of our strategy to provide a digital lifestyle and promote stronger customer loyalty with valued services and attractive bundles.”

The service has commenced a full rollout in Guatemala, Colombia, El Salvador, Bolivia, Honduras and completing all Latin American Tigo markets by the end of the third quarter of 2015.

Momac’s platform powers the front-end optimisation for more than 20 000 devices, including mobile webapps and native apps, while giving Tigo a high level of flexibility thanks to Mvolve administration tools.
