NTH Mobile, a global mobile payment provider and 2019 Tier-1 DCB Vendor has just launched a Direct Carrier Billing connection with O2 – one of the largest MNOs in the Czech Republic.

Thanks to this partnership, millions of O2 subscribers will now have access to simpler and faster mobile payments.

So far we’ve launched Direct Carrier Billing connections in more than 50 markets worldwide and we’re glad to see that more and more mobile operators in Europe are choosing DCB over traditional Premium SMS payment. DCB has many advantages, the most important one being that it simplifies end user journey and provides a seamless payment experience,“ says Domagoj Rakitić, Head of Mobile Payment Sales at NTH Mobile.

OTT service providers and merchants are increasingly interested in introducing DCB as their main payment solution and there’s a good reason for that. For example, the penetration rate of credit and charge cards in the Czech Republic is only 13.1%, while mobile penetration is 145% (per ResearchAndMarkets.com and GSMA Intelligence data). This makes carrier billing a more sensible option for accepting payments.

“DCB allows users to buy digital goods in just a few clicks and helps OTT service providers and merchants achieve up to 10x higher conversion rates than credit cards“, adds Domagoj.
