Fonix, the London based tech company and Sport Relief 2018 have collaborated for the fourth year in a row to provide the mobile donation mechanic during the build up campaigns that culminated in a fundraising extravaganza on Friday night.
The Sport Relief event raised £38,195,278 for charitable causes by the end of its live TV show.
Sport Relief brings together sport and entertainment, with many sporting events featuring celebrities as well as members of the public. The biennial campaign raises money to help people in the UK and across the world to live happier, healthier, safer lives.
Once again for the 2018 campaign, Fonix processed the charity’s mobile donations. The platform allowed consumers to donate either £5, £10 or £20 amounts via mobile payment, as well as giving the option to add Gift Aid at no extra cost to donors.
Campaign Manager at Sport Relief, Jules Thorne commented “Fonix have provided a fantastic technology and support function to the charity. Fonix’s platform continues to demonstrate its ability to handle mass volumes of donations and generate ground-breaking fundraising to support our cause to help vulnerable people in the UK and around the world.”
CEO of Fonix, Rob Weisz, said: “Our vision has always been to give mobile users a frictionless payment experience regardless of mechanic of entry; Fonix’s technology platform is central in enabling the public to donate via mobile and we were absolutely delighted to, yet again, work with Sport Relief on the 2018 campaign.”
