Veoo appoints interactive and digital specialist Claire Mclaughlin to drive business development

Veoo, a global mobile consultancy and leading provider of mobile messaging solutions, is delighted to announce that it has appointed Claire Mclaughlin, who takes on the role of Business Development Global for the organisation.

Mclaughlin is a seasoned interactive and digital professional with an enviable track record that spans over 20 years of working with organisations such as the BBC, News International, 12 Snap Mobile Digital Agency and iTouch.

At these organisations, Mclaughlin has held a number of senior management roles, reporting directly to the board, and has been responsible for identifying the strategic technology platforms and marketing requirements for a number of digital teams. Prior to joining Veoo, Mclaughlin was Head of Interactive Technology at the BBC for eight years.

At Veoo, Mclaughlin will be responsible for driving business development for a number of new products and services that Veoo aims to launch this year. An innovative organisation that never stands still, Veoo is constantly exploring new avenues, products and services, and right now, is creating a media portal for journalists specifically operating in the broadcasting industry.

This media console is being developed in partnership with leading independent mobile app developer, Pocket App. Claire’s experience, in particular at the BBC, where she was responsible for developing and launching pan-industry audience technology products such as Text to Donate, digital micropayments, gift aid solutions, mobile, social media, online voting and competition solutions, play-a-long apps and digital gaming, will prove invaluable as Veoo starts to take this new console, along with other new products, to market.

Mclaughlin joins Veoo’s highly knowledgeable senior team, which benefits already from over 70 years of accumulative experience in the mobile industry and puts this into practice on a daily basis by facilitating communication, billing and marketing to millions of mobile users for over 150 businesses around the globe. Having tripled in size and turnover in the last year, Veoo is undergoing ambitious plans to maintain this momentum and double its current revenue in 2016.

With a host of mobile services on offer to its customers, such as mobile marketing, two-factor authentication, SMS notifications and a ground-breaking new Mobile Wallet solution that is set to revolutionise the mobile payments space, Veoo’s plans for expansion include opening new offices this year in the US, Canada and the Philippines, as well as the creation of additional positions in sales, tech support and new senior roles such as Claire’s.
